WARRIORS TOP SPIRES 3-0
10/25/2008 - The Sterling men's soccer team traveled to the University of St. Mary on Friday and turned in a 3-0 win against the Spires, lifting the Warriors to 10-4 on the season and 4-2 in conference play. Sterling got on the board in the 34th minute when Godfrey Miheso slipped a header to Mladen Bjelica who burried a shot into the low left corner of the net. That proved to be the lone goal of the first half. Fifteen minutes into the second frame, the Warriors were awarded a PK that Justin Martens converted for a 2-0 lead. Ryan Covey rounded out the scoring when he found the back of the net in the 81st minute on an assist from Bjelica. The Warriors travel to Hillsboro, KS on Saturday to take on the Bluejays of Tabor College.
